I just wanted to say to all the bloggers that I follow (Beth F,Terri E, Kirsten D, Debi H, Matt D, Stephanie T,David L)that you all do a great job updating your blogs and I LOVE checking them out. Terri I have to say you do such a great job of "writing" on your blog. I'm sorry to say to you all that may be following our blog that I'm not very good about "writing", I pretty much just add photos.
I think 1 out of the 4 of us has been sick since March. Quinn now has Croup and I'm pretty sure Aiden is at the beginning of it (there's only so many times you can keep the spoons and sippy cups separate). If ones sick their both bound to get it, especially when their both so young. Croup sounds horrible and Quinn's fever has gotten as high as 103.6 which is scary but I guess their throat doesn't actually bother them.
UPDATES:Quinn: I guess is a typical 2 year old, well not really. We all think our child(ren) is (are) the best thing that's ever taken a breath on earth right? Quinn is such a great kid. I'm sorry I've gotta brag a little here. He's a sensitive, sweet, thoughtful loving child. Would I say he's setting the world on fire as a two year old? No. His verbal skills are a little behind. I wouldn't trade anything about this little boy for all the things in the world. For instance everything he sees as we are driving down the road that he finds exciting (motorcycles, bulldozers, excavators, semi's, firetrucks) he says "baby, baby, baby" and points because he wants Aiden to see it also (yes he call Aiden "baby" not Aiden. As I'm walking Aiden around the house (I'm walking behind Aiden holding both hands) Quinn comes running and holds onto Aiden's wrist and wants to walk with the baby and he does. He doesn't get bored or sidetracked and stays focused as long as it takes. He walks and talks to Aiden. He asks for things, there can be a pile of cheerios on the table and rather than just taking them he will stand there saying please until we hear and answer him. You'd think we made him ask for everything. At the playground the other day he asked a complete stranger that was sitting by the toy "Please" if he could ride it. Quinn has a big heart. Quinn is thin, and has dimples that stop my heart instantly.
Aiden: Oh my where to start? He's gonna be our bruit. He eats like it's his last meal every time, you hear him coming a mile away, you hear his yell when he wants something and you'd think the world was coming to an end, poor patch has not a chance in the world if he's in the same room, and yes he's biting. Quinn never went thru the biting stage thank goodness because man those teeth are sharp!!! Aiden says "Da Da, Dog, No No No (because he hears this quite a lot), num num num because he loves food. Man he's a cute little conniver. We laugh that Quinn is going to be the one at the dinner table saying "Aiden I will do your homework if you eat my dinner and it won't even be a question to Aiden". We also laugh about their conversations that may go as follows "Aiden I really think if you jump off the roof you can fly, and Aiden will try it". Ok sorry back to their updates, Aiden is sleeping thru the night, well when he's not sick. Both boys go to bed at 8pm and wake (usually) between 7-8pm. Lately Aiden thinks 6-7 is good, mommy disagrees. They both nap only once a day around noon for a couple hours if I'm lucky.
Patch: I have to give updates on all our children right? Well she is neurotic as always. I think she is the most beautiful dog I've ever seen but man she's a little skitso. She also sleeps thru the night and eats like a bird like Quinn. She could run for probably 4 hours solid. We call her a gazel at times because man she's got moves at the dog park. She usualy has a heard of 3-5 dogs on her tail. I think the only dog we've ever seen keep up with her is a whippett.
I've waited for this life for so long and I'm loving every minute of it. That's not to say I don't get tired and frustrated at times, I'm only human. Date night with my hubby, about once a month, is FABULOUS! Steven you are worth all the wait, my goodness you are amazing! I love you my best friend.
So I think I've blabbed enough. I hope you've all enjoyed this post and hopefully this gave you a little smile because we can all use that at times. As a VERY close friend of mine once said (well she bought me a picture frame that said this and I LOVE IT) "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away"......(love you Beth)
I hope you enjoy the following pictures from Aiden's 1st birthday party at the firestation.
Gooodnight everyone :)
Your boys are by far the best Amy! I love them so much and I love how much they love Peyton. It will be so great to have them grow up together.
